Common questions
Magnesium is needed for the muscles in the body to have the right conditions to function normally and can also reduce symptoms such as fatigue and exhaustion. Both energy metabolism and the nervous system are dependent on the body's magnesium levels and magnesium also contributes to maintaining normal bone structure and healthy teeth. Magnesium participates in a large number of the body's biochemical reactions and is needed to activate approximately 300 different enzymes! Magnesium is necessary for the body's electrolyte balance (salt balance), for the cell division processes to function normally and for protein synthesis. In addition, this mineral is important for our cognitive functions in the brain. In other words, it is a substance with a very broad effect on many completely different areas of the body.
Good sources of magnesium in the diet are nuts, green leafy vegetables, whole grains, almonds, beans, potatoes, fish, meat and dairy products. However, it is important to remember that chemical fertilizers prevent plants from absorbing magnesium from the soil, which means that the magnesium content varies greatly depending on the origin of the plants. The absorption of magnesium can also be reduced by simultaneous intake of foods rich in phytic acid and/or very low protein intake. As if this were not enough, coffee, tea, soda and other diuretics, such as medication with diuretics, risk stimulating the excretion of magnesium in the urine. Heavy alcohol consumption can also be another factor in magnesium loss, which can cause a deficiency of the mineral. There are also other factors that can increase our need for magnesium, such as hard exercise, heavy sweating and stress. In other words, there are a number of factors that can significantly increase the body's need for magnesium.
The recommended daily intake of magnesium is 280mg for women and 350mg for men. Some believe that these are relatively easy levels to maintain with a good diet, while others believe that we should actually at least increase the amount of magnesium we get from our diet on average. In fact, the general intake of magnesium today has decreased enormously compared to the amount of magnesium that was normally taken in through our diet in the past.
Elexir Magnesium contains magnesium from 4 different sources in the form of hydroxide, oxide, citrate and malate. It is also supplemented with vitamin B6, which works with magnesium and is needed for the normal function of the nervous system, energy metabolism and immune system. It also, just like magnesium, reduces tiredness and fatigue and supports the cognitive functions of the brain. The product also contains the black pepper extract Bioperine ®, which increases the absorption of magnesium.
Ingredients : Magnesium (magnesium hydroxide, oxide, citrate, malate), thickener (cellulose, magnesium salts of fatty acids), chicory root fiber (inulin), anti-caking agents (silicon dioxide, calcium phosphates), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), Bioperine® black pepper extract ( Piper nigrum ), glazing agent ((hydroxypropyl methylcellulose).
